Abstract

Optimisation of governor damage aims to support the smooth running of the main engine in KM Hai Da. The governor is an important component in the engine speed regulation system, and damage to the governor can cause various operational problems. This study aims to determine the effect, cause and determine what efforts should be made to overcome damage, especially to the Governor. The author summarises all the problems and tries to analyse the problem by using the fishbone analysis method and using qualitative methods. Based on the analysis obtained, the problems that occur from Governor damage to the main engine are caused by dirty oil due to lack of maintenance and exceeding working hours and also caused by worn Governor components. This Governor damage can affect the performance of the main engine. In conclusion, with this problem, the importance of care and maintenance of both the Governor and the main engine and pay more attention to the engine if it has entered for replacement of components with high working hours.
